Central extensions of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras (Q1320673): Difference between revisions

Let \(L\) be a Lie algebra of Cartan type of the second kind (i.e. defined over formal Laurent series), over \(\mathbb{C}\). The author calculates \(H^ 2(L,\mathbb{C})\) and \(H^ 1(L,L')\), where \(L'\) is the coadjoint \(L\)-module and shows that Lie algebras of formal divergence-free vector fields and Hamiltonian vector fields possess nontrivial central extensions, which can be realized explicitly.
