The paper contains a criterion for \(p\)-periodicity of knots (\(p\) an odd prime) in terms of a regularity in the coefficients of the 2-variable polynomial. As in the case of \(p=3\) in an earlier paper, the author reduces the proof of the case of a special class of torus knots and then uses formulas available for those. As an application the question of period 5 is settled for 10-crossing knots, using in some cases refinements implying cables.
