This paper deals with nonlinear systems of the form \[ \dot x=f(t,x),\quad y=\varphi(x). \] An impulsive control is defined as \(\{\tau_k,u_k(y)\}_{k=1,2,\dots}\), where \(\tau_k\) is a strictly increasing and divergent sequence and \(x = u_k(y)\) is a sequence of continuous maps. The action of the control is represented by a sudden displacement of the state variable \(x\) to \(x + u_k(y)\) applied at the time \(\tau_k\). By assuming the existence of suitable Lyapunov functions, the authors prove several stability results. Finally, they discuss the impulsive control stabilization problem of the chaotic Lorenz system.
