A class of nonlinear uncertain nonminimum-phase systems with nonlinear internal dynamics is considered. The uncertainties and the additive smooth external disturbances in the internal dynamics are modelled by the states of an exosystem. Under suitable assumptions, a sliding mode controller has been designed to provide robust tracking of a smooth reference profile in real time. The technique used is based on the method of system center. An illustrative example is also presented.
