The authors design neural network based methods to determine, by learning from data, the implementation of a fuzzy controller of Sugeno-Takagi-type with a predetermined number of rules, number of input variables, and Gaussian shape for the fuzzy input values. The effectiveness of the proposed methods is explained via examples.
