This paper is concerned with unifying explicitly the ``quantum groups'' approach to Noncommutative Geometry with the ``spectral triples'' approach of A. Connes, in particular as far as the involved Dirac operator is concerned. The main original result is an explicit construction of a spectral triple starting from a bimodule connection, starting from a chosen vector bundle which plays the role of a spinor bundle. The construction relies mainly on the following two ingredients: First, the bimodule connection is understood as a single connection which satisfies certain braiding conditions, instead a pair of (unrelated) connections. Second, the required antilinearity of certain spectral triple data is provided by the notion of conjugate bimodule studied in earlier work of the authors. The construction is tested in the cases of \(M_2(\mathbb{C})\), the \(q\)-sphere and the \(q\)-disc.
