The paper is concerned with a linear model from age-dependent population dynamics with spatial structure, for which the trivial solution is exponentially stable in the homogeneous case. It is shown that addition of time-periodic inhomogeneities to the equation and boundary conditions gives rise to the appearance of a nontrivial periodic solution of the same period. Moreover, this periodic solution is globally asymptotically stable. For the existence proof, a monotonous iteration procedure is used starting with an upper solution. The paper concludes with an application to an epidemic model.
