Eigenvalue distributions of some degenerate elliptic operators: An approach via entropy numbers (Q1337556): Difference between revisions

The paper deals with the distribution of eigenvalues for nonsmooth degenerate elliptic operators in bounded domains. This problem is reduced to estimates of the entropy numbers of some embeddings between function spaces of Sobolev type. Secondly, based on the same techniques and on the Birman-Schwinger principle, the ``negative'' spectrum of some elliptic operators is studied.
