The authors are interested in the connectedness of the space of Riemannian metrics on a three-dimensional manifold which are asymptotically flat and have non-negative scalar curvature. In this paper, they consider the subset of such metrics on \(\mathbb R^3\) with the additional property that the coordinate spheres are quasiconvex, i.e., have positive Gaussian and mean curvatures. They prove that this subset is indeed connected. To do this, they use a parabolic equation for prescribing scalar curvature. This method generalizes one developed by \textit{R.~Bartnik} in [J.\ Differ.\ Geom.\ 37, 31--71 (1993; Zbl 0786.53019)].
