    Les AA. étendent la méthode de P. Lévy et R. Caccioppoli sur l'inversion d'applications entre espaces de Banach au cas d'applications qui ont des singularités. Les AA. appliquent le résultat abstrait au problème \[ \Delta u+f(u)=g\quad\text{sur } \Omega,\qquad u_{|\Gamma}=0,\tag{*} \] où \(\Omega\) est un ouvert borné de frontière \(\Gamma\) regulière et \(f(p)\) est une fonction qui croit de façon linéaire pout \(p\to\pm\infty\). Les AA. trouvent ainsi des estimations assez exactes sur le nombre des solutions de (*). On peut aussi observer que pour ce problème la méthode de Leray-Schauder ne donne aucun résultat util, étant donné que le degré topologique de l'application est \(0\).
