The stability of \((\rho, \sigma)\)-reducible quadrature methods, applied to the test equation \(y(t)= y_0+ \int^t_0 (py(s)+ qy(s- \tau))ds\), is studied. The results are closely related to stability investigations of linear multistep methods for the delay equation \(y'(t)= py(t)+ qy(t- \tau)\).
