Let \(u_k\in C^2(\mathbb{R}^2\setminus\Gamma)\cap C(\mathbb{R}^2)\) be solutions of \(\Delta u_k+ ku_k=0\) in \(\mathbb{R}^2\setminus\Gamma\) with wave number \(k>0\), satisfying \(u_k=f_k\) on an open arc \(\Gamma\) and the radiation condition. Investigated is the behaviour for \(k\to 0\). For \(0<k<1\) the unique solution \(u_k\) is found by a modified acoustic single-layer potential. This has a limit \(u_0\) as \(k\to 0\). The potentials \(u_k,u_0\) satisfy the above Dirichlet problem and the corresponding Dirichlet problem \((k=0)\) for the Laplace equation, respectively, provided the densities \(\varphi_k\), \(\varphi_0\in L^P (\Gamma)\) are solutions of an integral equation of first kind. Here by a cosinus-substitution it is transformed into a parametrized version \(K_k \psi_k =g_k\). Based on this results an analysis is done in a Sobolev space setting. It is shown that for all \(0\leq k\leq k_0\) with \(0<k_0\) the \(K_k\) have bounded inverses. Therefore solutions \(u_k,u_0\) of the above Dirichlet problems exists. The main result is, that for \(\|f_k-f_0 \|_{C^1 (\Gamma)}\to 0\) as \(k\to 0\) the \(u_k\) converge uniformly on compact subsets of \(\mathbb{R}^2\) to \(u_0\).
