The paper deals with the \(d\)-dimensional nearest-neighbour stochastic Ising model at the inverse temperature \(\beta\) with a fixed small positive magnetic field which turns to be a continuous-time Markov process on the state space \(\{-1,+1\}^N\). Low temperature is described by very large values for \(\beta\) giving rise to many problems of theoretical nature, which are the main purpose of the paper. An expression for the relaxation time at low temperature is derived, and the main mathematical tool so used to this end is the so-called metropolis dynamics.
