This paper proposes a numerical method for Burgers' equation with periodic boundary conditions. The method involves temporal integration along the characteristic curves, and the spatial discretization is made by a mixed finite element method using Raviart-Thomas basis functions of low order. Error bounds are obtained in the \(L^2\) norm.
