This physics paper deals with testing the AdS/CFT conjecture in a particular way. The authors calculate quantum corrections to the standard formula \(E=-c/12\) in \(\mathrm{AdS}_3/\mathrm{CFT}_2\) relating the Casimir energy \(E\) of the bulk supersymmetric (SUSY) gravity theory with the central charge \(c\) of the boundary SUSY conformal field theory by adapting techniques from similar calculations in \(\mathrm{AdS}_5/\mathrm{CFT}_4\). The authors show by computing independently both sides that the above standard formula is not necessarily satisfied unless a sufficient amount of SUSY is assumed. One main task of the paper is to find the required threshold amount of SUSY by performing computations with various SUSY assumptions. Within this context the authors' main result is a formula expressing the leading one-loop correction \(\delta c_L\) to the left-moving central charge in the high temperature limit by assuming at least \((0,2)\) SUSY (see Equation (1.1) in the article). Of course an analogous formula exists for \(\delta c_R\) assuming \((2,0)\) SUSY.
