\textit{J. Bolton} and \textit{L. M. Woodward} proved in [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 45, 363-376 (1992; Zbl 0763.53059)] that a non-isotropic map \(\phi:\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^2\cup \{\infty\}\rightarrow \mathbb{C}P^n\subset U(n+1)\) is conformal if and only if it is weakly conformal. The authors of the present note show that these two conditions are further equivalent with \(A_z^2\neq 0\) and \(A_z^3=0\) where \(2A_z=(\phi-\phi^\perp)^{-1}\partial(\phi-\phi^\perp)\). As a consequence, they deduce that there are no weakly conformal harmonic 2-tori with semi-simple \(A_z\) in \(\mathbb{C}P^n\). A system of equations (in terms of \(A_z\)) is then shown to characterize non-isotropic harmonic maps \(\phi:\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^2\cup \{\infty\}\rightarrow \mathbb{C}P^n\subset U(n+1)\) with isotropy order greater than \(3\). The order of isotropy can be effectively computed by a method explained in the end of the note.
