Manifold reconnection and diffusion in strong chaos (Q1583819): Difference between revisions

This paper studies the diffusion behaviour over a chaotic reconnecting zone of a nontwist quadratic map. The effect of reconnections on the diffusion coefficient is analysed. The local diffusion coefficient is computed numerically by means of an infinite series involving angular correlation coefficients. It is shown that the diffusion coefficient is enhanced from lower to higher values as a reconnection-like process takes place.
