    Die Selbstzündung in einer einstufigen exothermen Reaktion läßt sich durch zwei nichtlineare Differentialgleichungen erster Ordnung für die absolute Temperatur und für die Treibstoffkonzentration beschreiben. Da der nichtlineare Kennlinienverlauf zwei stabile Lösungen im hohen und tiefen Temperaturbereich erklärt, muß eine instabile Gleichgewichtslage vorliegen. Mit Hilfe der Methode der langsamen und schnellen Zeit weist der Verf. in diesem Bereich die Existenz von Relaxationsschwingungen nach. In Abhängigkeit von normierten Systemparametern wird das Auftreten und der Verlauf der Schwingungen abgeschätzt.
