Second order numerical scheme for motion of polygonal curves with constant area speed (Q846250): Difference between revisions

The polygonal analogues of several moving boundary problems and their time discretization which preserves the constant area speed property are investigated. Various polygonal analogues of geometric formulas for moving boundaries are established and geometric formulas for the developed numerical scheme are mobilized for the analysis of general constant area speed motion of polygons. Numerical simulations for polygonal motions such as motion by curvature and area-preserving advected flow are used for the establishment of the efficiency and the accuracy of the proposed numerical method.
