In the note the stability of an equilibrium of discrete dynamical systems \[ x\to g(x),\quad x,g(x)\in S\subseteq\mathbb R^n \] is studied. It is shown that the slightly relaxed versions of the well known sufficient conditions of the Lyapunov stability, asymptotic or global asymptotic stability based on the method of Lyapunov functions are also necessary.
