    Es sei A eine komplexe \(n\times n\)-Matrix, die keine verschiedenen Eigenwerte gleichen Betrages besitze. Ferner gelte mit einer unendlichen Folge \(r_ 1<r_ 2<r_ 3<..\). natürlicher Zahlen für die Matrizen \(B_ k=A^{r_ k}\), daß \((B_ k+B^*_ k)\) positiv semidefinit sei. Verff. beweisen, daß dann A zu einer direkten Summe \(H\oplus N\) unitär ähnlich ist, wobei H eine reguläre normale Matrix und N eine nilpotente Matrix ist. Zahlreiche Folgerungen aus diesem Satz beziehen sich auf geeignete Wahlmöglichkeiten der Exponentenfolge \((r_ k)\), die dann zu weitergehenden Aussagen (teilweise unter abgeschwächten Voraussetzungen) führen, z.B. daß A eine positiv definite Hermitesche Matrix ist. Andere Folgerungen gehen von spezielleren Voraussetzungen über die Elemente bzw. die Eigenwerte der Matrix A aus, um zu entsprechend schärferen und vielgestaltigen Resultaten zu gelangen.
