The numerical solution of a certain integro-differential equation is studied. The discretization in time is based on the trapezoidal rule: time derivative directly; the integral by a fractional quadrature rule constructed from the trapezoidal rule. The investigation is detailed: functional quadrature rule, numerical method, error expression, stability, convergence. The application of the numerical method is restricted to two experiments.
