Consider the two-differential system \[ \varepsilon dx/dt =x(1-x)-fz(x-\mu)/(x+\mu), \quad dz/dt = x-z, \tag \(*\) \] as an approximation to the Oregonator. The authors derive conditions for the nonexistence of periodic solutions, for the existence of heteroclinic orbits and study the global behavior of \((*)\).
