A construction of difference sets (Q1381617): Difference between revisions

The paper gives a construction of a family of difference sets with parameters \[ v=4q^{2n+2} {q^{2n+2} -1\over q^2-1}, \quad k=q^{2n+2} \left({2 (q^{2n+2} -1)\over q+1} +1\right), \quad \lambda= (q^{2n+2} -q^{2n+1}) {q^{2n+1} +1\over q+1} \] in a group of the form \(K\times G\), where \(G\) is an abelian 2-group of order \(4q^{2n+2}\) which contains an elementary abelian subgroup of index 2, \(K\) is any group of order \({q^{2n+2} -1\over q^2-1}\), and \(q\) is a power of 2. This generalizes previous constructions by J. A. Davis and J. Jedwab, and the author.
