Different constructions of closed families of crystals were given by \textit{M. Kashiwara} [Duke Math. J. 63, No. 2, 465-516 (1991; Zbl 0739.17005)] using quantum groups and by \textit{G. Lusztig} [ Progr. Theor. Phys. 102, Suppl., 175-201 (1990; Zbl 0776.17012)] and \textit{P. Littelmann} [Invent. Math. 116, No. 1-3, 329-346 (1994; Zbl 0805.17019)] using the combinatorics of the root systems. The main goal of this paper is to give another construction of the closed family of crystals using the geometry of the affine Grassmannian.
