The aim of this paper is to derive an improved stability and convergence condition for a finite difference domain decomposition procedure for a linear parabolic problem. The domain decomposition method allows to divide the global problem into smaller subdomains problems. For a suitable choice of the time step, a stability and convergence result is obtained. The authors discuss the improvement of the stability and convergence with respect to different values of certain parameters.
