The authors study the stability in determining the potential $V$ from the knowledge of the partial Dirichlet to Neumann map for the boundary value problem \[ (-\Delta + V)u= 0 \quad \text{in } \Omega, \quad u=f \quad \text{on } \partial \Omega\] Their goal is to recover the periodic potential $V$ in the waveguide $\Omega$ by probing the system with voltage $f$ at the boundary and measuring the current $\frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu}$ on a subset of the boundary. The cross section of the infinite cylindrical domain under consideration is assumed to be bounded. The main stability result is that the potential can be determined log-log stably from the partial Dirichlet to Neumann map. Tools used to prove the main result include CGO solutions to quasiperiodic Laplace equation together with an appropriate Carleman estimate.
