Let S be a compact semitopological semigroup and let A be a Banach algebra with a closed cone K which contains the identity and which is closed under multiplication such that its norm is additive on K. The set of Borel sets in S is denoted by \({\mathcal B}(S)\) and the algebra of weakly compact measures \(m: {\mathcal B}(S)\to A\) which represent weakly compact operators T: C(S)\(\to A\) is denoted by MW(S,A). A measure m in MW(S,A) is called a probability measure if m is positive and the total variation of m is 1. The set of all these probability measures is denoted by PW(S,A). It is shown that PW(S,A) is a compact semitopological semigroup with respect to the weak operator topology and convolution operation. The support of an idempotent measure in MW(S,A) is a closed topologically simple subsemigroup. There is also a close relation between Haar measures and vector-valued idempotent measures.
