A differential quadrature formula is a weighted combination of function values and possible values of the derivative given in certain grid points. It is designed to give an approximation of the derived function at all points. For multivariate functions, the derivatives are of course replaced by partial derivatives. This papers gives design procedures for constructing differential and generalized differential quadrature formulas according to the given grid on which the values are given. Several numerical examples illustrate the general principles.
