A new sufficient condition is given for the flow generated by a quasi-autonomous Hamiltonian to be a minimal geodesic flow on the group of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms endowed with the Hofer's metric. It is then shown that this gives rise to the same distance as the one obtained by Viterbo's homological method.
