An optimal control problem with nonlinear elliptic state equations (Q1192140): Difference between revisions

Existence of optimal controls for a class of nonlinear problems which contain, in particular, second order semilinear elliptic equations is established. Several finite element algorithms for the numerical solution of these control problems are presented, and their convergence properties are studied. The theory is illustrated by some numerical examples.
