The authors consider the function \[ f(z) = {\log{\Gamma(z+1)} \over z\log{z}} , \] which is holomorphic in \(\mathbb C \setminus (-\infty,0]\), and they show that the reciprocal function \(1/f\) can be represented as a Stieltjes transform. From this it follows that the derivative \(f'\) is completely monotone, that is \((-1)^{n-1}f^{(n)}(x) \geq 0\) for all \(n \in \mathbb N\) and all \(x>0\).
