In the two algebraically integrable cases of geodesic flow on SO(4) described by \textit{M. Adler} and \textit{P. van Moerbeke} [Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 81, 4613-4616 (1984; Zbl 0545.58027)] there are four integrals of motion defining in \({\mathbb{C}}^ 6=Lie(SO(4))\otimes {\mathbb{C}}\) some affine abelian surfaces as complete intersections of four quadrics. In the paper under review the author presents some geometric properties characterizing these abelian surfaces.
