A function is overlapped if the graph of its convexification is contained in the convex hull of the graph of the function. A lower-semicontinuous function which is bounded below is shown to be overlapped if and only if the epigraph of its convexification has a certain property. This generalizes Shoples and Shubik's result, when the function is continuous, sublinear, and strictly decreasing.
