The author deals with a linear spatially inhomogeneous pseudo- differential operator \(L(x,D)\) of Beals and Fefferman type and proves sufficient regularity results for the maximal closed realization of \(L(x,D)\) in certain subspace of tempered distributions. Then global solvability of the equation \((L^*+aI)u=f\) is established, where \(L^*\) is the minimal closed realization of \(L\).
