The authors give an analogue of a result of \textit{S.-S. Chern} and \textit{C.-L. Terng} [Rocky Mt. J. Math. 10, 105-124 (1980; Zbl 0407.53002)]. They prove that if a surface M in Lorentz-Minkowski space is isometric to a part of the hyperbolic paraboloid \(z=x^ 2-y^ 2\), then the affine mean curvature of M is zero.
