The authors define the affine deformation of Finsler spaces, and show that affinely deformed Minkowski spaces are characterized by the existence of linear metrical connections. Moreover, they prove that if the indicatrices of an affinely deformed Minkowski space are maximally mobile with respect to the linear metrical connection, then the space is Riemannian, while in the case of linear metrical connection-rigidity, the space is Minkowskian.
