The governing equations are based on Reddy's higher-order shear deformation shell theory and on von Kármán-Donnell type of kinematic nonlinearity. The nonlinear prebuckling deformations and initial geometric imperfections of the shell are taken into account. Singular perturbation technique is used to determine interactive buckling loads and postbuckling equilibrium paths. Numerical illustrations of the postbuckling response are given for perfect and imperfect, unstiffened (stiffened) moderately thick, antisymmetric (symmetric) cross-ply laminated cylindrical shells for different load-proportional parameters.
