This paper treats the problem of factorization of matrix polynomials with multiple roots. Theorems, examples and applications are considered. The techniques given in the paper involve the determination of the factors primarily with the use of the eigenvalue notion for the existing multiple roots of the matrix polynomial. Special cases of Vandermonde matrices are also considered.
