The authors establish higher integrability up to the boundary (lateral and initial) of the gradient of solutions to porous medium type systems of this type: \[ \partial_t u - \operatorname{div} A(x, t, u, D(|u|^{m-1}u)) = \operatorname{div} F \] in \(\Omega_T := \Omega \times(0, T)\), and \(u = g\) on \(\partial_{par}\Omega_T\), and \(u(0,x) = u_0(x)\). More precisely, they prove that under suitable assumptions the spatial gradient \(D(|u|^{m-1}u)\) of any weak solution is integrable to a larger power than the natural power \(2\). We recall that for the \(p\)-Laplacian, the higher regularity problem was solved by [\textit{J. Kinnunen} and \textit{J. L. Lewis}, Duke Math. J. 102, No. 2, 253--271 (2000; Zbl 0994.35036)]. The corresponding question for porous medium type equations stayed open for a long time and was solved, for the interior of the domain, only few years ago by \textit{U. Gianazza} and \textit{S. Schwarzacher} [J. Funct. Anal. 277, No. 12, Article ID 108291, 57 p. (2019; Zbl 1423.35218)]. In this paper, the authors extend their results up to the boundary.
