This paper defines the Bogomolov multiplier \(B(L)\) for a finite-dimensional Lie algebra \(L\) over a field. It shows \(B(L)\) is isomorphic to a subgroup \(B_0(L)\) of the second cohomology group \(H^2(L,\Omega)\). Using a Hopf-type formula, \(B_0(L)\) is identified as a quotient \(B_0(L) \cong \frac{F' \cap R}{\langle K(F) \cap R\rangle}\), where \(F/R\) is a free presentation of \(L.\) The paper shows the dimension of \(B(L)\) can be arbitrarily large for nilpotent Lie algebras \(L\) of class 2. The Bogomolov multiplier is also shown to be invariant under isoclinism of Lie algebras, resolving an open question posed by Kunyavskii. Overall, this is a nice contribution establishing properties of the Bogomolov multiplier for Lie algebras. The Hopf-type formula for \(B_0(L)\) is the main theoretical result. The applications answer natural questions about the invariance and growth of this multiplier. The techniques involve homological algebra and derivations of exact sequences.
