In this nice paper, the authors discuss the generalized Bessel matrix functions and their integral representations. The generalized Bessel matrix function is defined as \[ {}_HJ_L(z)=\sum_{k=0}^\infty \dfrac{(-1)^k}{k!}\Gamma^{-1}(L+Hk+I)\left(\dfrac z2\right)^{2k+L}, \] where \(H\) and \(L\) are matrices in \(\mathbb C^{N\times N}\), \[ \Gamma(R)=\int_0^\infty e^{-t}\exp((R-I)\ln t)\,dt, \] and \(\Gamma(R)\Gamma^{-1}(R)=I\), where \(I\) is the identity matrix. The authors obtain, among other interesting results, the following integral representation for the generalized Bessel matrix function. Let \(H\) and \(L\) be matrices in \(\mathbb C^{N\times N}\) satisfying the conditions \(\Re(h)>0\) for all eigenvalues \(h\in \sigma(H)\), \(\Re(a)>-1\) for all eigenvalues \(a\in\sigma(L)\), and let \((Hk+ L+ I)\) be a matrix in \(\mathbb C^{N\times N}\) such that \((Hk+ L+ I)\) is an invertible matrix for every integer \(k\ge 0\). Then, the generalized Bessel matrix function \({}_HJ_L(z)\) defined above in the complex plane has the following integral representation: \[ {}_HJ_L(z)=\left(\frac z2\right)^L \frac1{2\pi i}\int_{C}e^{\frac {(s-z^2)s^{-H}}{4}}s^{-(I+L)}\, ds \] The authors also derive some properties using integral transform and fractional calculus of these functions.
