The author proves that the logarithmic capacity of compact sets of even-dimensional Euclidean spaces varies subharmonically under holomorphic motions. Let \(K\) be a compact subset of \(\mathbb{C}^n:=\mathbb{R}^{2n}\) for \(n\ge 1\). The Robin constant of \(K\) is defined by \[ V(K):=\inf_{\mu \in P(K)} \int\int \log \frac{1}{|x-y|}d\mu (x) d\mu (y), \] where \(P(K)\) is the class of all Borel probability measures \(\mu\) with \(\mathrm{supp} (\mu)\subset K\). Then the logarithmic capacity of \(K\) is \[ C(K):=e^{-V(K)}. \] A holomorphic motion \(f:\mathbb{D}\times K \to \mathbb{C}^n\) of \(K\) is a continuous map such that \(f(\cdot,z )\) is holomorphic in \(\mathbb{D}\) for any fixed \(z\in K\), \(f(\lambda,\cdot ):=f_\lambda (\cdot)\) is an injection for any fixed \(\lambda \in \mathbb{D}\) and \(f(0,\cdot )\) is the identity on \(K\). The main result of the paper is that the function \(F(\lambda)=C(f_\lambda (K))\) is subharmonic on \(\mathbb{D}\) which generalizes earlier work of \textit{H. Yamaguchi} [J. Math. Kyoto Univ. 13, 417--433 (1973; Zbl 0282.32002)] for the case \(n=1\). In this direction, the author first proves that the function \(F(\lambda)\) is upper semicontinuous on \(\mathbb{D}\). Then the main result follows by the superharmonicity of the Robin constant under holomorphic motions. In particular, the author shows that the function \(H(\lambda)=V(f_\lambda (K))\) is superharmonic on \(\mathbb{D}\) and he gives a necessary and sufficient condition for \(H\) to be harmonic on \(\mathbb{D}\). Finally, he illustrates the main result by presenting an example of a holomorphic motion of the unit sphere.
