Nilpotent Lie algebras with two centralizer dimensions over a finite field (Q6170758): Difference between revisions

\textit{Y. Barnea} and \textit{I. M. Isaacs} have shown [J. Algebra 259, No. 1, 284--299 (2003; Zbl 1035.17017)] that a finite dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra with exactly two breadth types has nilpotency class 2 or 3. In the following, the algebras will be over a finite field with at least 3 elements. Let \(n\) be the non-zero breadth type in such algebras. The authors show that for such algebras which are 3- step nilpotent, \(n\) is an even integer. Also, if \(n\) is an even integer, then there exists a unique finite dimensional, 3-step nilpotent stem algebra.
