In this article, the authors present a thorough investigation of parabolic connections within the realm of algebraic geometry. The parabolic vector bundles and vector bundles on root stacks for curves are equivalent with some restriction on weights. This theorem is introduced by \textit{I. Biswas} [Duke Math. J. 88, No. 2, 305--325 (1997; Zbl 0955.14010)] and \textit{N. Borne} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2007, No. 16, Article ID rnm049, 38 p. (2007; Zbl 1197.14035)] and later on generalized to logarithmic geometry by \textit{N. Borne} and \textit{A. Vistoli} [Adv. Math. 231, No. 3--4, 1327--1363 (2012; Zbl 1256.14002)]. On the other hand, the equivalence of connections on these vector bundles are well studied on algeraic curves by \textit{I. Biswas} et al., [Bull. Sci. Math. 136, No. 4, 369--398 (2012; Zbl 1260.14017)]. This paper generalized this equivalence of vector bundles with connections to higher dimensional algebraic varieties. The paper's primary contributions are Theorems A and B. Theorem A offers a criterion for a logarithmic connection on \(X\) to be holomorphic, specifically relating it to the strong parabolic nature of the corresponding parabolic connection. Theorem B is equally significant, establishing a natural tensor equivalence of categories between holomorphic connections on \(X\) and strongly parabolic connections with specific weights. Additionally, Corollary C provides insights into the uniqueness of lifting isomorphisms between holomorphic connections in a moduli space context. The exposition begins with an exhaustive review of the current understanding of root stacks, essential for grasping the implications of a strict normal crossings divisor. The discussion then shifts to connections on Deligne-Mumford stacks, highlighting the definition of logarithmic connections in this setting. The authors establish an equivalence of connections with the splitting of an Atiyah sequence in both the logarithmic and strongly parabolic frameworks, analogous to the scenario with ordinary connections versus Atiyah sequence. Subsequently, the paper provides an intricate construction linking the residues of parabolic and logarithmic connections and explores how tensor products maintain these relationships. One interesting application is a application, the authors introduced a candidate of log-Kummer fundamental group and curvature, hence shedding some light on a possible future application to a log-Kummer Riemann-Hilbert correspondence. In summary, this work makes a substantial contribution to the knowledge of connections on parabolic bundles and root stacks in algebraic geometry, presenting novel perspectives and extensions in the discipline.
