The family of Thompson's groups \(F \subseteq V \subseteq T\) consists of three groups defined and studied by \textit{R. Thompson} in some unpublished notes. Thompson's group \(F\) is the first example of a type \(\mathrm{F}_{\infty}\), torsion-free group with infinite cohomological dimension ([\textit{K. S. Brown} and \textit{R. Geoghegan}, Invent. Math. 77, 367--381 (1984; Zbl 0557.55009)]), while Thompson's groups \(T\) and \(V\) provided the first examples of finitely presented simple groups. Several authors have studied generalizations of Thompson's groups and in particular their braid versions \(bF\), \(bV\) and \(bT\) (see the paper for references). Let \(B_{d}\) be the braid group with \(d\) strings and \(PB_{d}\) is its pure braid subgroup. In the paper under review the authors study the finiteness properties of the braided Higman-Thompson group \(bV_{d,r}(H)\) with labels in \(H\leq B_{d}\), and \(bF_{d,r}(H)\) and \(bT_{d,r}(H)\) with labels in \(H \leq PB_{d}\). The main result that they prove is (Theorem 4.29): For any \(d \geq 2\) and \(r \geq 1\) and any subgroup \(H\) of the braid group \(B_{d}\) (resp. of the pure braid group \(PB_{d}\)), the group \(bV_{d,r}(H)\) (resp. \(bT_{d,r}(H)\) or \(bF_{d,r}(H)\)) is of type \(\mathrm{F}_{n}\) if and only if \(H\) is. This confirms a conjecture posed by \textit{J. Aroca} and \textit{M. Cumplido} in [J. Algebra 607, Part B, 5--34 (2022; Zbl 1511.20146)].
