The authors investigate elastic and electric field distributions around the tip of a crack in piezoceramics, assuming the crack to be a slender elliptic notch. Such an approach allows to put in evidence some facts that could not be deduced for the sharp crack edge. For instance, it is shown that the electric loading at infinity influences the coefficient of concentration of electric field at the crack tip. Other obtained results show the practical value of the present approach.
