The paper deals with the global in time well-posedness problem for the 2D Boussinesq equations with fractional dissipation in the subcritical regime. Namely, in the velocity dissipation dominated case for the largest possible range of the exponent of \(-\Delta^{\frac{\alpha}{2}}\), \(\alpha\in(0,1)\), the existence of a unique regular global in time solution is proved.
