    The equation \((|y'(t)|^\alpha\text{ sign } y'(t))'+ q(t)|y(g(t)) |^\alpha \text{ sign } y(g(t)) =0\) is considered, where \(\alpha\in ]0, +\infty[\), \(q: \mathbb{R}_+\to ]0, +\infty[\) is a continuous function, and \(g: \mathbb{R}_+\to ]0, +\infty[\) is a continuously differentiable function satisfying \(g'(t)> 0\) for \(t\in \mathbb{R}_+\) and \(\lim_{t\to +\infty} g(t)=+ \infty\). Sufficient conditions for oscillation and nonoscillation of the solutions of this equation are given.
