In this paper, the authors prove that the constant in the famous Fefferman-Stein vector-valued inequality is independent of the dimension $d$. That is, for any $p,q\in(1,\infty)$ and sequence $\{f_n\}_{n\ge1}$ of measurable functions on $\mathbb{R}^d$ with $(\sum_n|f_n|^q)^{1/q}\in L^p(\mathbb{R}^d)$, it holds \[ \left\|\left(\sum_n|\mathcal{M} f_n|^q\right)^{1/q}\right\|_{L^p(\mathbb{R}^d)}\le C(p,q) \left\|\left(\sum_n|f_n|^q\right)^{1/q}\right\|_{L^p(\mathbb{R}^d)} \] with a constant $C(p,q)$ depending only on $p$ and $q$, where $\mathcal{M}$ denotes the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator. Such dimension-free Fefferman-Stein vector-valued inequality for $L^p(\mathbb{R}^d;\ell^q)$ is also extended to a more general case $L^p(\mathbb{R}^d;Y) $ with $Y=Y(\Omega,\mu)$ being an arbitrary UMD Banach lattice. Similar dimension-free inequalities are also obtained in the setting of the Grushin operators.
